    Description

Janus is a potato-shaped moon with a mean radius of 89.5 km and has dimensions of 196 x 192 x 150 km. Janus is extensively cratered with several craters larger than 30 km. This oblong moon orbits 151,000 km away from Saturn, taking 17 hours to complete one orbit, in the gap between the F and G rings, but it doesn't do this alone. It actually shares its orbit with a sister moon named Epimetheus, in what is called a co-orbital condition or 1:1 resonance.
