The TWINS instrument is part of the InSight Auxiliary Payload Sensor Subsystem (APSS), in charge of collecting environmental data in support of the SEIS instrument, also onboard the InSight lander, as well as to provide helpful data for the safe deployment of the hardware to the Martian surface. Data from TWINS will be used by SEIS to reduce and decorrelate atmospheric effects from seismic signals.
